Final piece

This is my final piece it entails the process which I have gone through, from the very beginning with my three jewels , that's where I got the ideal to go about tackling this kind project.

Experimenting with form folding

 

 

 

 

 

 

line folds

These folds produce raised lines  in flat sheet of metal that look like chased or constructed lines.
they may run across an entire surface or be restricted to a shorter strip. fold the metal where the line will be placed and mallet  the crease flat ,as figure A. the tighter the fold edge ,the sharper the resulting line will be. Anneal and open the  form with your fingers, then put it in roll mill to it flat.

Rueger fold

This is an extended forged line fold with a varying proportion of leg-to- fold edge. make a long line fold and mallet it tight. cut the metal on a curving line that angles away from the fold. this varying leg length creates a helix that results when the fold is hammered. the shorter the leg the, the greater the curvature.

Plunkett fold

Make a wedge t-fold in the vise , then with one side of the table in the vise ,tap the table up the slightly with a mallet. repeat on the other side of the table so that the end cross section resembles a y. close the upper arms of this Y and mallet it flat. roll the fold in a a narrow tapered end entering the mill first, when done , anneal the form and open it up.

Charles Lewton brain invented fold-forming,form-folding sheet metal quickly into wonderful 3-D shaper and textures,most  from single sheet of metal without any soldering. Fold forms while they can be used as finished products are at their best as starting point or component of more complex pieces.

She aspire to create three-dimensional forms that capture the beauty of flora and fauna and explore all  aspects of nature. She is greatly inspired by spontaneous layered structures and geometric patterns displayed in nature. Gilly Langton

Her philosophy is to make jewellery that is pure and uncomplicated. She is by simple forms, I create geometrical boxy shapes that are threaded through bold coloured elastic. The is used to contrast against the brushed silver creating playful pieces of jewellery, pulling and  pining the elastic. development within her jewellery is paramount, she continues to push her collection in new direction

Jessica Briggs

There is an inherent simplicity of both form and function in his work. All her designs, whatever the inspiration are translated into elegant pieces with subtle textures or more complex and layered finishes.
